An important message for our members about impacts of COVID-19

Following on from the governments most recent advice around "social distancing" and effectively advising organisations to work from home where possible, ESAB has asked all staff to work from home as of now. This will continue until such a time that the national advice changes and that more normal working practices can resume. As a consequence our offices in Tower street are now closed to casual callers. However we are still contactable via the telephone or Email and our Community Workers (CWs) are continuing to provide assistance to people via their dedicated telephone helplines.

During this period, whilst social gatherings and other face to face contacts are being restricted, our CWs and volunteers are continuing to offer help where possible. As well as responding to requests for help our CWs are telephoning any clients who are known to be in the highest risk groups to check on wellbeing and our befriending calls service will also still be operating.

If you need help please do make contact. Our CW helplines are operating normally and messages left on our office number 01473 611011 will be responded to as soon as possible, you can also email us on

Exhibitions of equipment supplies and service providers

The East Suffolk Association for the Blind organises exhibitions of equipment supplies and service providers for the visually impaired.

News of the 2020 exhibitions will be published on this page as soon as they are available.

These events are a fabulous opportunity for visually impaired people and their families or carers to come along and have access to an enormous amount of information and advice about local services that are available to them, but also the incredible amount of affordable daily living aids that can be demonstrated and purchased to help with independent living. Please do all that you can to attend.

In most venues there are also light refreshments available.  Please do all that you can to pay a visit?  For any other information, you can call 01473 611011
